Welcome To Poison Apple Productions

Poison Apple Productions provides high quality, well rounded, family friendly performing arts education, experiences and theatrical events to the community, by kids, for kids and with kids.

Poison Apple has been presenting original shows in Contra Costa County CA since 2000.  Formally incorporated in 2005, Poison Apple Productions is dedicated to promoting the role of young people in the performing arts as audience members and active participants in all stages of the theatrical process.

Poison Apple provides a unique forum for students to collaborate in a creative way with peers and adult mentors, sharing their knowledge and talents with others.  Many of the company’s participants have experience in dance, music, drama, creative writing and voice.  Others are learning backstage skills, such as makeup and hair design, costuming, set building, properties, lighting, stage management, publicity and more.  Poison Apple Productions participants learn by doing!

We currently offer projects designed to engage youth at a variety of age and skill levels:

  • Young Writer and Director Workshop Projects
  • Original Full Length Musicals
  • Original Full Length Non-Musical Plays
  • Out On A Limb (Taking a Risk on Young Artists age 14-24)
  • Internships, Workshops, Guest Speakers

Our dream at Poison Apple is to continue to grow our company so that we can provide more of the following:

  • Affordable, challenging performing arts education and experiences.
  • Original theater productions written and directed by young people.
  • Fun filled family entertainment.
  • Increased appreciation of performing arts in the local community.
